In March and April we have been very busy with the Book Fair, the World of Owls, the Victorian Day, football and hockey matches and the Big Breakfast. Thanks to all those who have supported us. The breakfast raised over £700 for PTA funds.
World Of Owls
The World of Owls came to visit on Wednesday 16th March. P1, 2 & 3 have been learning about owls so they were the experts, but they allowed the rest of the classes a sneaky peak. We saw 2 different types of owls and learned a lot about birds of prey. We also got the chance to see some other unusual animals including an enormous cockroach, a dragon lizard and a snake. Some people were very brave and agreed to hold them.
P4, 5, 6 and 7 stepped back in time on Thursday 17th March when they dressed up and imagined what it would have been like to be at school in the Victorian Era. They looked at Victorian artefacts, wrote on slates and with ink pens, recited poetry and played with old fashioned games. They even brought Victorian style food for their break. They decided that, although it was interesting to do it for one day, they would miss all the mod-cons they have today. The teachers were also crosser and you had to sit very straight and still at all times.
