X-Factor
On Thursday 23rd October the assembly hall was packed to capacity as parents, pupils and friends came along to show off their talents to our very own Simon, Cheryl, Mel and Louis. Following the short AGM, where the new PTA committee was elected, the singers stepped up to entertain us with their talents. As far as we were concerned everyone who took to the stage was a winner and we must say thanks, once again, for your support and a great evening’s craic. |

International Links
The European Day of Languages was celebrated on Friday 26th September with games and activities using as many different languages as possible. This has become an annual event and is one of the activities which have helped us gain the International School Award. If you know of anyone who has been on an interesting expedition recently please contact Miss Steele as we would love to hear all about it.

We would also like to thank all those who donated shoes to Mrs Cooper who has sent them off to the school she visited in Malawi where many boys and girls will be delighted to receive them.
Eco-Update
The eco-committee have had a very busy first half-term. The term began with the harvesting and sale of the produce from the vegetable garden. All the proceeds will go towards other eco-projects. The Cash for Clobber was collected and made £220. Planting is all finished for Autumn and Spring and if anyone has any old containers which could be recycled for use as plant pots please send them in. The Dog’s Trust also came to school and gave a great presentation on how to keep safe around dogs.

Coming up after Hallowe’en: Thursday 6th November is Power Down Day when we will be switching off as many electrical things as possible.
Please keep collecting old newspapers, magazines and printed materials, as well as old ink cartridges, and deposit them in the collection boxes in the entrance hall, as all these can be recycled to raise cash for the school and various charities.
Dates for your Diary
Pupils from P6&7 will travel to the Waterfront Hall on Thursday 11th December to join a choir of school children performing with the African Children’s choir. Tickets are available directly from the Waterfront Hall.
The Carol Service is scheduled for Wednesday 17th December in First Kilrea Presbyterian Church,7.30 pm.
