Car crazy
P1 and 2 are studying things that move and have been surveying the traffic in Kilrea. They have been looking at all kinds of cars and Mrs Cooper even allowed them to get out the sponges and soap suds to help wash one which was great fun.
Once upon a time…
On Tuesday 2nd P3 and 4 hoisted the Jolly Roger and had an exciting day looking for buried treasure to finish off their ‘Anchors Away’ topic. Now they have entered the world of talking frogs, handsome princes and beautiful princesses as they explore old and new fairytales.
Going for gold
P5, 6 and 7 brought their weather topic to an end with a look at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver and some daring individuals even displayed their sporting skills by trying snow-boarding and skiing (courtesy of the Wii).
P7 are now finding out the damage that ice bergs can do, especially when they come in contact with a ship, while P5 & 6 are learning healthy habits, and the benefits of a balanced diet and regular exercise.
Helping Haiti
The final total for the Haiti appeal was £354.27. Thanks again for your support and generosity.

Meanwhile Ann Morrison-Smyth and Mrs Stinson have been training a small group to take part in an Ulster Scots Choral speaking competition.
Mark Patterson came to give P6 and 7 a talk on the life cycle of the salmon in the River Bann. Later they will join pupils from St. Columba’s to release salmon fry into the river and monitor their development.
